Balayage is a popular hair coloring technique that creates natural-looking, sun-kissed highlights. The term comes from the French word meaning "to sweep" or "to paint", accurately describing the way the color is applied. Unlike traditional highlights that use foils, balayage involves hand-painting the lightener or color onto sections of the hair.
Why choose balayage?
Natural Look: Balayage creates a soft, blended transition from your natural root color to the lighter ends, mimicking how hair naturally lightens in the sun.
Low Maintenance: The softer transitions mean less noticeable regrowth, allowing for longer periods between touch-ups compared to traditional highlights.
Customizable: Balayage can be customized to suit any hair color, length, and texture, from subtle brightening to more dramatic transformations.
The Balayage process:
Consultation: Discuss your desired look and hair goals with Jeanet. Jeanet will help you choose the right shades and placement for your balayage.
Sectioning: Jeanet will section your hair to prepare for the application of the color.
Painting: The lightener or color is hand-painted onto sections of your hair, usually from the mid-lengths to the ends, using a sweeping motion, focusing on areas where the sun would naturally lighten it.
Processing: The hair processes for the required time to achieve the desired lift and tone.
Rinsing and Toning: The lightener is rinsed out, and a toner is applied to achieve the final desired shade and neutralize unwanted undertones.
Styling: Your hair is then conditioned, styled, and ready to be showcased.
